Living

Home upkeep, health, growth, money, and the physical habit of good posture.

Living
21

Home maintenance

Change air filters every 1–3 months. Test smoke detectors twice a year. Know where your water shutoff valve is before you actually need it in an emergency — that's not information you want to be searching for mid-flood.

22

Sleep quality

A consistent sleep and wake time improves how you feel and perform more reliably than almost anything else within your control. Seven to nine hours, a dark and cool room, and screens set aside an hour before bed.

23

Exercise

A mediocre routine you actually keep up beats a perfect one abandoned after two weeks. Pick something sustainable — strength training twice a week paired with regular walking is a strong, realistic baseline for most people, not an elite one.

24

Intellectual development

Read outside your usual field on purpose. Follow a genuine curiosity somewhere it doesn't immediately pay off professionally. The habit of continuing to learn matters more, long-term, than any single fact or skill picked up along the way.

25

Financial fundamentals

Spend less than you earn — the single rule underneath every other piece of financial advice. Build an emergency fund before chasing investment returns. Automate savings and bill payments so good habits don't depend on willpower every single month.

26

Physical posture

Shoulders back and down, not hiked up around your ears. Chin level, not jutted forward. Good posture isn't about looking rigid — it's about looking like you belong in the room, which starts with how you physically stand in it.
